Spring is a wonderful time of year, full of fresh hope. When the weather starts to become more cheerful it is great to reflect that in our homes with a lighter style of decoration. Of course, most of us do not want to redecorate every year just because it is spring but if you have a neutral color scheme in your bedroom there is a lot you can do to welcome in the warmer weather.
If you have an a winter duvet you will be thinking about changing over in spring to a lighter version and this is a great time to add a fresher look to your bedding. Look for a bedding ensemble which reminds you of spring. It may be in a lighter color such as cream or white (cream and white bedding ensembles are actually the most popular colors of all) or it may have a delicate pattern incorporating pastel colors or cheerful flowers.
It may very well be worth purchasing two ensembles for your bed even if you normally wash and dry your bed linen and put it back on your bed all on he same day when it comes to laundry. This will allow you to have a set of bedding with a warmer tone for winter and have a set with fresh colors for spring and summer.
Along with changing to lighter colored bedding you can also change your curtains to a paler color to match your bedding and perhaps change your bedside rug too. If you have a warm winter throw on your bed, remove it for the summer or replace it with a thin cotton quilt. Add a vase of spring flowers to your bed side table and you will really know spring has arrived every morning when you wake up in your fresh “new” room.
