Any room where you want a softly glowing light without the hassle of plugging it in or purchasing one that’s battery operated is a candidate for a beautiful candle lamp. These lamps don’t require electricity, batteries or any kind of power source at all. They’re actually like a very classic-looking candle holder designed for a lit candle. They look like a lamp complete with shade and base, but instead of a bulb they diffuse the glow of your choice of candle.
Candle lamps should be used with the same type of precautions as regular candles. You won’t want to use one of these lamps anywhere you wouldn’t feel safe using a candle in a standard candle holder. For instance, you would never leave a burning candle in a place where a child could reach it. So don’t put a candle lamp anywhere children can reach. You also wouldn’t leave a burning candle on the table where a cat regularly sleeps or where a big dog could knock it over. Since the candle lamp will have a burning candle inside it, you wouldn’t want in any of those places, either.
If you have children and/or pets, use these precautions for maximum safety. And don’t be fooled into thinking that because there’s a lamp shade that the heat and flame can’t go up. This type of lamp has an opening in the top to allow heat to escape and keep from smothering the candle. Keep your candle lamps away from hanging curtains, hanging shade cords, the edges of hanging doilies and anything that could catch fire. Never put them below a shelf or anything set low enough that it’s going to heat up from the heat of the candle. And of course, never use a candle lamp anywhere that it’s unsafe to use an open flame, such as in a room where oxygen is in use.
Follow these precautions and you’ll be able to use your beautiful new accessory safely.
