There is a lot that you need to know when learning how to install sod. For instance, even after all the soil preparation has been done, you still need to make sure that the ground is moist before you roll on the sod. In addition, you also want to put down some starter fertilizer. This will help the sod to grow in and help the roots to get established.

When you’re laying sod, you have to make sure that the lines are straight. Also, it is very important that all of the sod pieces are held tight together. If you are laying sod that has gaps or unevenness, it doesn’t look very professional and finished. Make sure that all of the rows of sod are inter-lapping. You don’t want to have all of your rows lined up with one another. Your lawn will come in and grow better if there are fewer long disconnected joints. After you have gone through and laid down all of your sod properly, the next step is for you to roll over it with a sod roller. However when you do this, you want to make sure that you do not have a lot of weight on the roller. You just want about 8,200 pounds so that you can make sure that the sod is going to come into contact with the soil. If you did a great job leveling and grading, this shouldn’t take too long at all.

One of the most important things you can do after installing your sod is to make sure to water on a regular basis. By watering your sod, you can keep it healthy and you can help the roots to come in right away. The only way to kill sod, ( in most cases) is to let it dry out by not watering. Since sod is relatively expensive, you want to make sure to keep it wet so that you don’t have to replace it later on.

There are a lot of homes that have tile and grout that don’t use a grout sealer. It seems like these people either like to have dirty grout, or they like to spend time every week cleaning their tile and grout. For a lot of people, all these are unacceptable when there is an easier way to keep your tile and grout clean by doing less work.

The way to do this is by learning how to seal grout. Even though some blogs say this is a long, tedious and grueling process, I beg to differ. In truth, it is less time that you have to spend in the long run, and it is also not that difficult. If you’re trying to do it with a small container of grout sealer and a paintbrush, it might take you a few hours to do it. But, if you use a bottle roller to apply it to your tile and grout, you can be done with most tile surfaces in less than 30 minutes. As a matter fact, you could do two applications of grout sealer to your grout in less than 30 minutes.

How often you have to use a grout sealer depends on how many coats you applied the first time, and what type of grout sealers you used. Typically solvent-based grout sealers will last a little bit longer (usually 8 to 12 months instead of 6 to 8). A lot of times, it depends on the amount of foot traffic that you get over your tile as well. With a medium amount of foot traffic, you should plan on sealing your grout with a water-based grout sealer at least once every six months. A lot of people also recommend that you use a grout colorant if you are trying to seal white floor grout. Also, don’t go with the cheapest sealer on the market. It is normally worth your time to go up one or two levels so that you can have a grout sealer that contains a little bit more in it than just water.

Blinds installation is a perfect home improvement job for the professionals. Whenever doing home improvement projects, it’s important to know the strengths of professional companies that will ensure your job is done right and the workmanship will last. Five reasons why you should hire a company to install blinds are:

Schedule. With marriages, children, pets, sports, and all the other activities of daily life, it’s not necessary to take large amounts of time to try and figure out a project that can be easily scheduled and quickly completed by a professional. We’ve all heard the saying, “Time is money”, and while blinds installation may seem simple, it can take up more of your time that could be spent wiser in other aspects of your life.

Keep It Simple. It’s simple to contact Budget Blinds and set up an appointment that works well for you and your family.

Longevity. Blinds installation is a job that requires great workmanship because blinds are expected to last by homeowners. The last thing you will want is for half of your blinds to fall down at an inopportune time six months down the road because the job was not done correctly. It will ultimately cost you more time and money.

Guaranteed Work. Budget Blinds guarantees their work and if for whatever reason, there is any dissatisfaction a company representative will be happy to return to the work site and make any needed changes or improvement to keep you happy and satisfied.

Safety. Blinds installation may not seem like a major project, but it is and requires precision, experience, and know-how to quickly and professionally complete the project.

Last, blinds installation by a company like Budget Blinds will ultimately save you money and reduce the amount of time, attention, and money that could potentially be wasted by doing it yourself. Enjoy your blinds for as long as possible and have a professional take care of it for you from start to finish.

The New Year is finally here and the excitement of shedding the past and embracing the future is upon us. The New Year is a perfect time to analyze what didn’t work in the current year and prepare for a new, and life changing year of positive growth. As you look back over the past year you will probably notice many goals and aspirations that you did not achieve or meet. Noticing these things is a great indicator of a need for home organization solutions. Having a home, even just slightly more organized, makes it possible as it can cut down on wasted time spent rifling through things or catching up on cleaning and organization when it could have just been kept orderly from the beginning.

If you’re New Year’s resolution is to get organized, here are some organization solutions that will work for you:

Get serious. Throw out the attitude that you’ll get to it or that it really isn’t that bad. A home that is not organized is simply that and a disorderly home a false representation of who you are. It doesn’t make sense to run a household with systems that have failed or that you cannot keep up with. Take a stand to change it.

Do not feel that you must change in order to keep your home in great condition. Sometimes the home organization solutions provided by magazines, blogs, or other sources mean well but they are not customized for you life. Something as simple starting with the mudroom and working out can change the whole way you and your family feel about home organization solutions.

Love your life. Live beautifully with a unique aesthetic and a focus on fluidity in your daily life. Call your Tailored Living specialist for a free in-home consultation that can help change the way your New Year goes.

Tailored Living wishes you a fantastic New Year and a wonderful home with home organization solutions that look and work as well as you do.

GE is one of the largest manufacturers of appliances, along with Electrolux and Whirlpool, and one of the most distinct appliance product lines from this brand is their refrigerator selection. The refrigerator collection of GE is wide and massive, with so many fridge models varying in sizes, style and types. Even though GE is sometimes reviewed as a repair-prone refrigerator brand due to increasing reports of refrigerator repairs, the brand has a solid customer service and technical assistance that counteract this negative reputation.

If you own a refrigerator from GE – whether it’s a GE Profile refrigerator or a GE Monogram refrigerator – then you are entitled to a wide range of perks. Aside from a cost-effective price tag, stylish ergonomic design and decent cooling features, most GE customers are extremely satisfied with the repair solutions that are extended to them once they need it. It’s inevitable that once in a while the refrigerator unit will break down and may not work properly. What’s unnatural is when you don’t know how to deal about this.

But if you choose the brand GE then you need not have to worry. As a mass market brand, you can easily find a GE service center that can cater to your needs any time of the day. You can find it in most big boxed appliance retail stores, and if you are lucky, there may be a GE showroom near your place to consult. Still, the internet is the easiest way for a technical inquiry, with customer representatives ready to serve and answer your troubling queries. From pricing information to technical services, all of these things are accessible to GE customers.

In some refrigerator reviews, the GE brand is considered to be a repair-prone in refrigerator types such as top freezers and bottom freezers with or without ice makers. But the most important thing here is that you know where to go in case your refrigerator breaks down. At GE service center, you are always welcome.

A sod cutter is an important tool that you can use to cut your grass and make it look organized. A sod cutter is not hard to use just as long as you know how to operate it. Once you get the hang of it, you can use the sod cutter effectively and easily. When using a sod cutter, you have to step your foot on to the tool. Using a sod cutter is the same as using a shovel. When cutting the sod, you can wet the ground so you can maneuver the sod cutter easily because the soil is soft. But make sure that the ground is just moist and not soaked. If the soil is soaked, it will be hard for you to get the sod from the roots. This device will help you cut the grass deeply by digging the grass deeply. Then you can cut about a square of grass and break the last of the roots and get the sod. You have to handle the sod carefully if you are planning to use the sod again in your lawn. Sod cutters are important for landscapers. I have a friend who is a landscaper and he explained the importance of sod cutter when doing his job. The important sod cutting jobs involves in rearrangement of lawns and landscaping it. It is important to use especially when cutting a portion of the sod and transferring it to another location. With the use of a sod cutter, you will not damage the original look of the sod. Sod cutters can be used if there is really a need to cut sod or there is a plan of redesigning your lawn. With that, it is better to rent a sod cutter instead of buying one since you will not need it regularly anyway.

It seems there are a million different home improvement shows on television now and a fantastic movement towards encouraging people to DIY (do it yourself). It’s a great form of support from media resources that empower people to find within themselves the skills they need for a project. While it’s great for a variety of tasks, it’s also smart to leave some things to the professionals, for safety reasons in particular. For example, blinds installation is a great project but also can potentially create some risks. Here are three potential risks in doing projects yourself to keep in mind the next time you want to take on a new challenge that you don’t have experience in:

First, the most important thing to remember you risk when taking on a home improvement project is your safety. What might not seem dangerous at first can actually be very dangerous depending on the task at hand. Something as seemingly simple as blinds installation, for example, is something you would want to be careful with as you are installing things over your head that could potentially fall on you or a bystander.

Second, another important thing is that you could damage the product you purchased. If you try to do a project like blinds installation, you run the risk of actually damaging the product you purchased that could ultimately cost you more money in the long run.

And, last, when attempting DIY projects that are better left up to the professionals, you run the risk of wasting precious time you could be using to spend time with your family or participating in an activity you love to do. Blinds installation and other home improvement projects are great to see complete but are ultimately better left up to the pros. However, if you do decide to pull up a ‘how to’ and try it yourself, make sure you stay safe, go slow, and limit your attempt to a reasonable amount of time so you don’t take all day trying to figure it out and losing hours of precious time.

For more information about blinds installation, please visit Budget Blinds corporate account.

If you’re trying to find a good grout cleaner, there are some types of cleaners that you should avoid using. For one, avoid using an excessive amount of bleach or a high concentration of bleach when you are cleaning tile and grout. You never want to use more than 10% concentration of bleach to water. Some sites advocate using 1 to 4 ratio, but that is just way too high, and it is likely that you are going to damage your grout in the long run, and it will also be more hazardous for your health to use this high concentration.

Another thing that you should avoid using are cleaners that are super weak. Vinegar might work as a disinfectant, but it is not that great in cleaning tile and grout. If you mix it with baking soda, it does work a little bit better, but by itself, it should not be used. There are some cleaners that worked really well. The best grout cleaner will contain a little bit of bleach, or at least an oxidizing agent that helps to break up and remove stains. The hardest types of stains to remove on grout are those that are caused by mildew. What I can recommend for mildew stain removal is called X – 14. This cleaner is made by the same company that makes WD-40. I don’t know what it contains, but it does an amazing job as a grout cleaner. If you want to use it to clean grout, all you have to do is simply spray it on and then wait. You come back after about 30 minute after you sprayed the bleach and the wipe it dry. Most of the time, the mildew stain is also gone. This is a great way to help brighten your tile grout and get rid of tough mildew stains. A lot of people who have used this product have also recommended that you use it in an area of your home that is well ventilated. Make sure that you have fans running, or that you have your windows open so that you do not inhale too much of this product.

When you’re trying to find the best grout cleaner, you don’t want one that is so tough on the grout that it can damage your grout and tile. You also don’t want one that is so weak that it takes hours and hours of scrubbing for you to get the job done. An example of a weak grout cleaner is using vinegar to clean your grout and tile with. If it is already clean, it works great, but if you have tough mildew stains that you need to get rid of, vinegar just doesn’t work. An example of a grout cleaner that is way too strong, is using bleach, or using X – 14 on grout that is already old or already starting to crumble. If you do that, you will notice that the grout will simply become ruined. If you want some intermediary cleaners that will do the job without being too harsh or too mild, then there are two cleaners that I recommend:

The first medium duty grout cleaner is Kaboom. It is made by the same people that make oxidizing bleach. And it is basically their secret ingredient. Because it has oxidizing bleach, it does a good job at lightening and whitening grout lines. It also gets rid of grout stains pretty quickly and effectively. The next type of grout cleaner that is a good intermediary cleaner is ordinary Soft Scrub. If you get the kind that has bleach mixed with it, it is already going to be a little bit stronger, but the ordinary Soft Scrub seems to work pretty well at getting rid of stubborn grout stains. Although, when you use the ordinary kind, you will have to do some scrubbing to get rid of the discoloration. The benefit is that once you’re finished, it will look really good. Make sure you take the time to admire your work when you’re done and make sure that you got rid of all of the stains.

If you understand grubs, it makes it easier to treat and get rid of them. Most of the time, grubs live beneath the surface of the soil. Basically, grubs are beetle’s larva. Beetles tend to lay their eggs in the end of the summer. These eggs take a few weeks to hatch. Once they hatch, they turn into a larva. The larva will actively feed on your lawn throughout the fall, and then go into hibernation over the winter.

If you have Japanese beetles in your lawn, the best time to treat them is during the fall when they are actively feeding. If you have June beetles or May beetles, it is probably a better idea to wait for the spring. These types of beetles will continue to eat during the spring and they may be easier to kill because they will be eating more often. If you want to know how to get rid of grubs, the best way to do it is with grub control. You usually want to use an insect growth regulator to control the grubs all season long. This way when they go to molt, they’ll be unable to do it and they will not be able to reach maturity. Without reaching maturity, they won’t reproduce and there won’t be any more grubs in your lawn next year. As an alternative, you can also look into using organophosphates. The downside to organophosphates is that they attack the nervous system, and they can also affect animals and even humans if there is a large concentration on your yard.

Another method in controlling grubs involves wearing lawn aerator shoes on your feet. Even though they are pretty poor ways to aerate your lawn, they do an okay job at killing grubs. Sometimes all you need to do is reduce the grub population by 40 to 50%. This will prevent them from doing major damage. By wearing aerator shoes, you can do just that. You can walk across her lawn and kill 40 to 50% of the grubs are feeding on your grass.
