Before you rush to the nearest store, you will want to consider a few things. The brand, size and cost of the various bar fridges on the market.
Choosing a Brand and Size
Many manufacturers produce the type of refrigerators that are suitable for a dormitory. Some of these are GE, Haier, and Igloo. A typical dorm fridge will be 3 feet high, but the capacity inside can vary depending on the design.
A portable mini fridge ideal for a dorm can be had from GE for as little as one hundred dollars. These budget units are as small as 1.7 cubic feet. Larger models up to 6 cubic feet are also available for not much more.
Haier, another respected manufacturer, has a similar 1.7 cubic foot unit also for a hundred dollars. This unit can be had in stainless steel, if that is important to you this model is worth considering. Again, Haier produces a line of larger, relatively speaking, compact fridges also.
A nice dorm fridge from Igloo, a lesser known brand, will let you store 2 liter bottles of soda. It comes in two tone stainless steel and black.
Whether your budget dictates a cheap portable fridge, or you can afford the very best bar fridge, choices are available in all types, variety, sizes and colors.
The Cost
The small low end refrigerators suitable for dorm life can be had for as little as one hundred dollars. If this is all budgets or space allow, one of these will serve you well. However, if you have a little more cash, and a little more space, two hundred dollars will outfit you with a dorm fridge that will be the envy of all who see it!
