Choosing a Unicel Pool Filter: What You Need To Know

Unicel is one of the biggest names in the pool filter market, providing customized solutions that fit just about at kind of pool or spa.  However, with this flexibility comes a little bit more research that is required of the consumer.  While this is certainly not a complex process by any means, especially when you employ the help of Unicel’s helpful order form, you should still have some idea of what you’re getting into before starting the order so that it goes as efficiently as possible.  The last thing you want to do is be caught off guard without some key piece of information that you needed to collect.

The first important thing is understanding what format the end caps need to be for your particular water filter system.  There are a number of different cap types that exist, including various adapter types such as clips and threaded connectors.  It should be a fairly straightforward process to find which type you need by removing the filter mechanism from your existing setup and examining it.  You might even want to have it by your side when you’re making the order online or over the phone.  The other important considerations are the length and diameter of the filter.  You obviously do not want to get these measurements wrong because each Unicel pool filter is made to fit a specific make and model of filtration unit.

In addition to understanding the proper dimensions and end cap types, you should also understand how to clean the pool filter.  Much like a water dispenser, a pool or spa filter needs to be cleaned and/or replaced once in a while when they get filled up with all the crud that would otherwise end up in your pool!  I won’t go into the whole process since it’s outside the scope of this post, but do know that cleaning methods will be different depending on whether you use chlorine in your pool or else some kind of chlorine alternative.

With this little bit of information, you will be equipped to make an educated choice when ordering a new pool filter from Unicel!
