Flea Bombs – How to Use Them Effectively

Fleas are horrible little creatures, and if they get into your house they can nest in your carpet and will try to feed on and even latch on to anyone who passes by, so a flea bomb is a good solution for them.

The noxious little pests can be brought into your home by either pets or humans, and once they’re inside, removing them is a pain. One of the easiest ways is to use these things called flea bomb. In this article we will discuss what a flea bomb is and how to use it.

The word “bomb” is misleading here – these products are also called flea “foggers,” and this is much more accurate. A flea fogger is basically a can of insecticide like an aerosol, which you set off in your house and then leave for awhile. The insecticide will be released in a dense cloud, filling up every nook and cranny of your home and hopefully smoking out and killing any fleas that have nested. The insecticide is essentially poison, and dangerous to humans and pets, so there is no choice but to leave while it is going on. It is essentially like having your house fumigated.

Using a flea bomb is simple. There is usually a tab of some sort on the fogger itself, which you lift or pull while aiming it away from your face. The fogger will begin spraying, and you should set it down on the floor in the center of the room and then get out. You should always read the label before using, as different models may require different numbers of flea bombs – sometimes you may need to use multiple cans, each in a different room – to ensure adequate coverage. Flea foggers treat the entire house at once, floors and furniture, and usually leave a residue which is designed to prevent any new fleas from surviving indoors for about six months.
