Roof Ladder

While on a roof, using a standard ladder is not the wisest choice. Instead, use a roof ladder. A roof ladder looks similar to a standard ladder, but has hooks attached to the top that attach to the peak of the roof. The hooks bolt or clamp on for added security, helping to prevent the ladder from slipping while someone is working on it.

To add extra levels of security, try some other safety measures. Wear a safety harness while on a roof so that a loss of footing will not result in something more disastrous. Add supports and walking aids to the roof for ease of use. The steeper the angles of the roof, the more important safety measures become. Never take anything for granted; it only takes one high fall to end a roofer’s career.
External cladding in a home design is important in ensuring that a home is kept protected throughout various seasons. Timber cladding is a popular choice in home building materials because of the many benefits it brings.

The biggest benefit is its relative lightweight and ability to provide natural insulation and good thermal performance, thus reducing construction costs.

In addition, timber is a resilient and flexible product, which helps minimize damage caused by foundation/seismic movements or wind storms. Timber also has sound-dampening properties, which reduces noise transmission.

Buildings clad in timber can be designed to suit many environments and fitted to any site with minimum expense, as long as appropriate protective coatings are applied to prevent deterioration of its surface due to prolonged weather exposure.

A wide range cladding is available including timber boarding and timber shingles; and most will fit any design requirement.

British timber merchants, whether in a large DIY store or a small local shop, should be well versed in all aspects of each species of timber, their uses as lumber, and the European grading system for strength now in use. Visual inspection for aesthetic quality may be needed as defects may be present in structural lumber. The grading standard number, the strength class (i.e. C18), the name or mark of the person who graded or produced the lumber, the certifying organization, and the species of tree should be stamped prominently on the lumber. Timber certification denoting that it is a renewable product is an important factor in this environmentally friendly market.
Both softwoods and hardwoods are imported from Germany, Belgium, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Mozambique, Cameroon, Finland and many other places around the globe. Wood is imported already sawn.
