The Ever Popular French Bar Stool

One of the most used pieces of furniture in our homes these day is the French bar stool, because it is so versatile. If you want, you can use them at your breakfast bar, and because many of them are also height adjustable you can also use them at the dining table if you need some extra seats. There are many great choices when it comes to French bar stools. They are called French because of the style of their legs, and because of the style of the ornamentation used on them. These stools are generally available from 24″ to about 30″ and many of them are adjustable.

French kitchen bar stools will usually be made from wood which is nice and warm and gives off a country feeling that so many people seek. There are loads of different woods used to make French bar stools from light and dark oaks to mahogany and dark cherries and many many more. You will find some bar stools that are marked as being French, but are made using black bamboo, but because this is not native to France they do not count as being French in many peoples eyes.

One thing about French bar stools is that they are pretty limited for going with your home décor. If you kitchen or dining room isn’t decorated to match French or Continental styles then these stools will look a bit out of place. One good thing is that the French and Continental styles do have quite a wide range of looks, so there is a chance that your home already has this look.

I would suggest starting to look for these stools at your local furniture store. There is a massive price range for these stools, depending on what materials you want it make from and the manufacturer, it can range from about $50 to $500. The lower to cost of the stool the lower the quality of the product, you really want to be buying higher quality items. If you end up getting a stool for $50 and it only lasts you about a year then I would call that a waste of money.
